Desert Sandwiches

| | Comments (3)

Did you ever make up your own weird recipe when you were a kid?

I did.

Desert sandwich

Butter 2 slices of bread. Add a layer of saltine crackers to one slice and a layer of cheddar cheese to the other slice, close it up and eat (and crunch).

I haven't made one in years. I probably lived off them for a summer when I was about 10 or so. Maybe I'll make them for the kids just to see the expression on their faces. Heh.

Can't think of any. Perhaps because I was forbidden from cooking until a late age. But I did engage in the following behavior:

Drinking pickle juice straight

Wadding up wonder bread into really tight, dense balls before eating

Putting leftover chocolate frosting on saltines

Eating peanuts in the shell

My favorite

Peanut Butter on both pieces of Bread
Honey
Ruffles Potato Chips
Eat

My friend, Angie, would always come over and beg for saltine sandwiches:

Butter two saltines, put buttered sides together in a sandwich form and eat.

I like to put BBQ chips inside my tunafish sandwiches. Is the yum.
